A little further on...

To the North is Royan. On the way there don't forget to stop at Talmont, a delightful small village built on a rock overhanging the Gironde Estuary. The church is Norman, an architectural treasure.
The beckoning sun of the South West is an invitation to the beaches. Château NODOT is about 50 kilometres from the Atlantic coast.
To the South near Arcachon there is the Pyla sand dune, the tallest in Europe at 117 metres.
