Each year, at the end of September during the medieval harvest at Château NODOT we re-enact the time of the knights and their ladies.

During this event, which is unique in France, you can either be a spectator or you can participate in the harvesting. For example, by cutting the grapes from the vine, which is done by hand with a pruning knife. You can also assist by trending the grapes which are trodden under foot by young women.

The grapes are then pressed in a wooden press which is an accurate replica of a XIII century press.

The juice obtained is vinified naturally in oak barrels according to methods used in the Middle Ages and of course, no chemicals are used.
You are welcome to come to the next medieval harvest on September 26th, 2009.
At the end of the harvest the participants, dressed in medieval costume, express their joy in medieval songs. A demonstration of medieval dancing is given in which the public are invited to join.
